Long time no see blog-ians!

I’m sorry I have neglected you, but I promise I have a really, really good reason!

In fact my life is full of reasons at the moment.

I’m half way through week 6 at school. That’s right, I’m a teacher now remember?! It’s crazy, crazy, CRAZY and was initially terrifying to the max. Luckily, all the students are lovely (give or take a few ferals) and they all love music. I’m teaching from Prep (that’s kindergarten) to Grade 9. So, that’s something like 500 names I’ve had to learn. I’m also taking two choirs (yay!!!) and have three singing students.

I have never sung so much in my LIFE! But luckily music teaching is practically the funnest thing ever.

As well as not having time to update my blog, I haven’t had time to do anything even remotely arty, which is sad. I also have a casual job selling tickets to musicals, which is taking up a lot of time. But, somehow I feel like it will have to go pretty soon.

I have however, got some fun news about things I have been doing. I’ve just bought myself a darling Diana Mini.

Cute no? It’s just the tiniest little thing.

Here are some photos from my first roll. I was just experimenting, and I’m looking forward to playing with some of the rad lomography film I bought as well.

It takes 35mm film, which is much easier to have developed which is nice.

I also bought myself, these:

I know. I know. T’hey’re the most amazing thing you’ve ever seen. Mine actually have blue wheels. I went skating for the first time on Sunday, and spent a lot of the time on my butt. I also gave myself a heap of awesome skate-pad shaped sunburn. Hopefully, I’ll get better with practice. :)

I also bought myself this:

No it’s not a tiny guitar, it’s a ukelele. I’m in the process of teaching myself, and thankfully it’s much easier than guitar, and SUPER easy to pick up. I can already play “You make me feel like a natural woman”. I’m specifically picking songs that seem ridiculous with uke.

So with all these extra hobbies and pass times, it’s certainly hard to find time to make art. But I do have some arty news for you.

My prints “O”

and “The Moral Is”

are for sale on my etsy store! They’re only $25US for a limited time, so if you want a print. Now is the time to buy!

Hopefully next time we speak, I’ll be able to give you some more arty news, and less about my spending habits (as rad as they are).

We’ll talke again soon, I promise.

It’s Friday and I’m in love

Friday, June 18th, 2010

I had a successful day today. I find that even though I’m on holidays, I’m too busy doing stuff to sit down and draw anything, which is really unfortunate. Luckily, me and the boy are going on a holiday to the beach in a week (I know beach in winter burrrr) so hopefully I’ll be able to spend a week dosing and painting and cuddling. Sounds delicious I know.

Today, I made some purchases!

CDs!

She and Him – Volume Two. I don’t even have volume one!

Tegan and Sara – Sainthood. I freaking love these girls.

More Tegan and Sara – I said I loved them didn’t I!

The Decemberists – The Crane Wife – I now think I have all their albums! Yay!

And Darwin Deez. His song Radar Detector is officially my favourite song of the moment

Is this song just the raddest thing you have EVER HEARD?!

I also bought two books to add to my To Read Pile.

This is for my book club. It’s a book of short anecdotal stories and I’ve read three so far and I can just tell I’m going to love it.

I also bought this, as recommended by my friend Zilla Darling. I’m almost definite I’m going to buy everything this man has every written.

Now my To Read pile is huge! I’ll post the list in it’s entirety tonight when I get home.

I promise, promise, promise, I’ll have something artistic to show you soon. I just need to find some time!

Be Joyous!
